Where these ideas come from

Historical symbolism, treated honestly

Sacred Number Art is inspired by number symbolism recorded in W. Wynn Westcott’s 1911 book Numbers: Their Occult Power and Mystic Virtues. A survey of how Pythagoreans, Kabbalists and other traditions saw meaning in number. We use it as an artistic framework, keep each tradition clearly labelled, and leave the era’s hierarchies and fear-readings behind. Read the original 1911 scan.

Pythagorean number symbolism

For the Pythagoreans, numbers were shapes before they were figures: one the point, two the line, three the triangle, four the solid. Their symbolism grows out of that geometry. Which is why it translates so naturally into artwork.

The Monad, Dyad and Triad

One (Monad) is origin; two (Dyad) is relationship and contrast; three (Triad) closes the first shape and was read as beginning, middle and end.

The Tetractys

Ten dots in a triangle, 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10. The Pythagoreans’ emblem of completeness, and the structure behind our number-ten artwork.

Perfect six

Six equals the sum of its divisors (1 + 2 + 3), which mathematicians still call a perfect number. Tradition tied it to harmony and union.

Kabbalistic gematria

A historical system giving Hebrew letters number values. Westcott records that the words for “love” and “unity” each count to thirteen. We don’t convert modern English names into gematria. That wouldn’t be historically honest.

Twelve and thirteen

Twelve organises the sky. Months, signs, the 360° circle. Thirteen steps beyond it: feared in some traditions, sacred in others, and tied to love and unity in the gematria tradition above.

Sacred Number Art draws on historical Pythagorean, Kabbalistic and cross-cultural symbolism. These traditions are belief-based and are not scientifically established methods of predicting events or changing outcomes. We use them as a thoughtful framework for creating meaningful, personalised artwork.

What is Sacred Number Art?

Original wall art whose structure (petal counts, stars, rings, borders) is built around a number that matters to you, guided by historical number symbolism. Designed live in your browser, then UV-printed on timber at Westpoint Blacktown.

How is my number calculated?

By simple digit-reduction with the working always shown: 14/02/2017 → 1+4+0+2+2+0+1+7 = 17 → 1+7 = 8. Sums that land on 10–13 keep their own symbolism. Everything is calculated on your device.

Can I choose a number without entering my birth date?

Yes. Pick any number from 1 to 13 directly, or tell us your intention and we’ll suggest numbers whose traditional symbolism fits.

Can you create art for a couple or family?

Yes. Couple artwork keeps both people’s numbers visible in the design and the explanation; family artwork represents each of up to eight members with their own motif inside the shared geometry.

Is thirteen always unlucky?

No. In one Hebrew gematria tradition the words for love and unity both count to thirteen, and several ancient calendars held it sacred. Different traditions simply disagreed.

Is this scientifically proven?

No. And we say so plainly. Number symbolism is a historical belief framework. We use it for reflection, storytelling and beautiful structure, never as prediction.

Can I combine this with my natal chart?

Yes. Natal Art offers an optional sacred-number pattern around your astronomically calculated birth chart. The decoration never changes the chart’s accuracy.

Are my personal details stored?

Everything is calculated in your browser. A design is saved on your own device only if you create one, and the “delete my saved design” button removes it entirely. Ordering shares your design details with us via WhatsApp. Used for printing and nothing else.

Can you print it on bamboo or pine?

Yes. Pine, bamboo, acrylic, slimline tile or floating frame, in the sizes shown live from our catalogue.

Can I see it on my wall before ordering?

Yes. The See It On My Wall button opens our visualiser, where you can place blocks on a photo of your own wall.

Can I order it as a gift?

Absolutely. Add the recipient’s name and a dedication. Ask us on WhatsApp about current production times before planning a specific date.

Can the number be hidden inside the artwork?

Yes. Choose “hidden” and the number appears nowhere as a figure; it lives only in the structure. The reveal overlay can still prove it’s there.
